A New Era of Player Influence

The upcoming Battlefield game is entering a crucial development phase, and Battlefield Studios recognizes the invaluable contribution of player feedback. Selected players from European and North American servers will be invited to participate in the initial phase of Battlefield Labs, providing hands-on testing of new features and mechanics. While participation is currently invite-only, registration is open, and the studio promises regular updates to keep the wider community informed. Future Battlefield titles are also planned to incorporate this collaborative approach.

"This game has immense potential," stated Vince Zampella, Head of Respawn & Group GM for EA Studios Organization. "Battlefield Labs empowers our teams to unlock that potential through pre-alpha testing."

Testing Core Gameplay Elements

Battlefield Labs will focus on iterative testing of key gameplay elements. The initial phase will concentrate on core combat and destruction, followed by weapon, vehicle, and gadget balancing. Feedback will also inform map design, game modes, and squad dynamics. Two established modes, Conquest and Breakthrough, will be included, providing a platform to explore improvements.

Conquest, a classic large-scale mode, centers around capturing control points (flags). Teams compete to deplete the opponent's tickets, lost through respawns or enemy flag control. Breakthrough features attackers striving to capture sectors while defenders obstruct their progress, employing a similar ticket system with bonus tickets for eliminating remaining enemies after a sector capture.

The class system is another area ripe for refinement, with Battlefield Studios actively seeking player input to achieve the optimal balance of form, function, and feel. While internal playtesting is rigorous, the studio believes that community feedback will significantly enhance the development process.
