Assassin's Creed Shadows Art Book Leaks on a Hentai Site, of All Places

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 17,2025

New details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows have surfaced online following the alleged leak of an artbook, surprisingly found on a hentai website, among other places.

Discovered on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, the "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook has rapidly spread across the internet. Containing hundreds of pages of concept art, quotes, and development information, it offers a significant glimpse into the next Assassin's Creed title.

While the leak itself is noteworthy, its alleged origin on a hentai-hosting site adds an unexpected twist. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for comment. Although the gallery was initially removed from the original site, it has since been archived elsewhere.

The leaked artbook showcases concepts for renowned historical figures, major cities, and a variety of weaponry. The artwork also seemingly reveals potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's release, the images appear authentic.

This leak comes shortly before Assassin's Creed Shadows' launch on March 20, 2025, following a delay that moved its release from 2024 to February.

At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with Assassin's Creed Shadows game director Charles Benoit. He confirmed the month-long delay was primarily focused on polishing, without altering core game systems. Minor adjustments were made to progression and balancing, but the most significant work involved refining the parkour system, which presented unique challenges in the setting of Feudal Japan.

"The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," he explained. "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
