Indus picks up five million downloads and concludes first international playtest in Manila

Author:Kristen Update:Dec 25,2024

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has achieved a significant milestone with over five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads just two months after its release. This success follows a win at the Google Play Awards (Best Made in India Game 2024) and a successful international playtest in Manila.

SuperGaming, the developer, aims to establish Indus as a leading Indian gaming title, surpassing competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback from international esports players.

Furthering their esports ambitions, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, culminating in the Indus International Tournament. This tournament, running from October 2024 to February 2025, boasts a prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately $31,000).

Impressive Growth, Future Potential

While the five million downloads fall slightly short of the initial ten million pre-registrations (a common occurrence), Indus's performance remains noteworthy. The lower iOS download numbers suggest room for growth in that market segment.

SuperGaming's proactive approach, including international playtests and an esports tournament, demonstrates ambitious plans for Indus's future development.
