The much-anticipated single-player action game, Lost Soul Aside, initially slated for release on May 30, 2025, has been postponed to August 29, 2025. Developer Ultizero Games shared the news, explaining that the extra three months will be used to enhance the game's polish and ensure a high-quality experience for players.

"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," stated Ultizero Games. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."

Originally conceived as the passion project of solo developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved significantly. What started as a single creator's vision has now blossomed into a major title under Sony's China Hero Project. Bing, now the founder and CEO of Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games, has guided the game from its viral reveal in 2016 to its current state.

In a recent interview with IGN, Yang Bing discussed the long journey to launch. The excitement around Lost Soul Aside has grown steadily, with many praising its blend of Final Fantasy-inspired characters and Devil May Cry-style combat. The game features protagonist Kesar, who wields a versatile, shape-shifting weapon that allows players to switch playstyles seamlessly. Kesar is also accompanied by a dragon-like companion named Arena, who can summon abilities to aid in combat.

Lost Soul Aside draws heavily from its inspirations, focusing on aerial dodging, precise timing, complex combos, and countering mechanics, all set against the backdrop of epic boss battles. The game's narrative weaves a sci-fi tale across multiple dimensions, featuring a mix of contemporary aesthetics. While the full story remains somewhat mysterious, Bing describes Kesar's adventure as one of "redemption and discovery."
