Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Does the Business for Embracer as It Nears 2 Million Copies Sold

Embracer has celebrated the remarkable sales achievement of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, announcing that it is approaching the 2 million units sold milestone. The game sold an impressive 1 million copies within just a day of its release and has nearly doubled that number only 10 days later.

This represents a significant triumph for Warhorse Studios, the developers behind this medieval Europe action role-playing game sequel, which debuted on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S platforms. Embracer highlighted that *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* performed exceptionally well on Steam, reaching over 250,000 peak concurrent players. To put this into perspective, the original *Kingdom Come: Deliverance* achieved a peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.

It’s important to note that the total peak concurrent player count for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is likely higher, as the game was also released on consoles. However, player numbers for consoles are not publicly disclosed by Sony or Microsoft.

Embracer, which owns Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, described *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* as "initially successful" not only in terms of player and critic reception but also in terms of its commercial performance.

“This reflects the dedication and hard work of our development studio, Warhorse Studios, and our publisher, Deep Silver,” said Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors. He expressed strong confidence that the game would continue to generate significant revenue in the coming years, emphasizing the game's exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal. Wingefors also mentioned that Warhorse Studios has a comprehensive roadmap for the next 12 months, promising updates and new content to keep the community engaged.

“We are immensely proud of the teams involved in the successful release of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, which has significantly outperformed our expectations so far,” Wingefors added.

In addition to *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, Embracer is gearing up for the release of *Killing Floor 3* later this quarter (January to March 2025).

Embracer currently has over 5,000 game developers working on its upcoming projects, with plans to release 10 triple-A games over the next three financial years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these will come from internal studios, and two from external ones.

For FY 2025/26, Embracer has scheduled two triple-A games for release towards the end of the financial year. Additionally, they are planning mid-size releases such as *Gothic 1 Remake*, *REANIMAL*, *Fellowship*, *Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core*, *Titan Quest II*, *Screamer*, *Echoes of the End* (working title), *Tides of Tomorrow*, *Satisfactory* (console), and the full release of *Wreckfest 2*, along with a similar number of mid-sized games yet to be announced.

Despite facing challenges in recent years, including layoffs and the sale of studios such as Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer still owns 4A Games, which is currently developing a new game in the *Metro* series.
