Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously seen in FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's approximately forty-minute session length. This timeframe, he stated, doesn't allow sufficient opportunity for players to leave or read messages.
"Given sessions of roughly forty minutes, there's insufficient time to send or read messages; hence, we removed the feature," Ishizaki clarified.
This choice is notable, given the significant role messaging has played in enhancing player interaction and enjoyment within FromSoftware's past games. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate storyline. The game promises a fresh adventure, incorporating new challenges and encounters while preserving the distinctive atmosphere and complexity of the Elden Ring world.
