The announcement of Neil Druckmann's latest game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, sparked a wide range of emotions among fans. Recently, we've been treated to the first details about its setting, which Druckmann shared on the Creator to Creator show.

The game is set in an alternate future that diverges from our reality starting in the late ‘80s. Central to the story is the emergence of a new religion within the Intergalactic universe, which eventually becomes the dominant faith. Naughty Dog has spent several years meticulously crafting this religion's lore, tracing its journey from the first prophet to its later transformations and distortions.

This religion originates on a single planet, where it spreads and eventually leads to the planet's isolation from the rest of the galaxy. The protagonist of the game crash-lands on this very planet, finding herself in a desolate place where she is completely alone. Survival in this solitary environment becomes one of the central themes of the project. Druckmann emphasized that, unlike previous Naughty Dog games which often included a companion for the player to interact with, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet challenges players to navigate and survive on their own if they hope to escape the planet.

Despite being in development for four years, there is still no information on a potential release date. Fans will need to stay tuned for future announcements to learn more about when they can expect to dive into this intriguing new world.
