With Monster Hunter Wilds launching in just a few weeks, Capcom has rolled out a PC benchmark tool on Steam to help players gauge their system's readiness. Alongside this, they've pleasantly surprised us by lowering the official PC system requirements, making the game more accessible to a wider range of hardware setups.
During the recent Capcom Spotlight, it was announced that the Monster Hunter Wilds PC benchmark is now live on Steam. Once loaded, the tool will compile shaders, but it's user-friendly and quickly shows you how your PC stacks up. It's wise to test it out, especially if you're wondering how the revised system specs could impact your gameplay experience.
Previously, to achieve 1080p at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, you needed a graphics card like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT; a CPU such as the Intel Core i5-11600K, Intel Core i5-12400, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, or AMD Ryzen 5 5500; and 16 GB of RAM.
However, an updated page alongside the benchmark shows Capcom has adjusted these requirements. For Recommended settings, which target 1080p (FHD) at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, the new specs are as follows:
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit required) / Windows 11 (64-bit required)
Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / Intel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB
Graphics Card (GPU): GeForce RTX 2060 Super / Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM)
Storage: 75 GB (SSD required)
These updated requirements should allow Monster Hunter Wilds to run smoothly at 1080p and 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, reflecting a noticeable reduction in hardware demands.

Users have reported improved performance in the benchmark compared to the beta test, particularly with Frame Generation enabled. While my gaming rig easily met the new requirements, my attempt on the Steam Deck wasn't as successful, indicating it might not be the best platform for this title.
A notable change is the storage requirement, which has been reduced from 140 GB to 75 GB. This is quite unexpected, considering the trend of increasing file sizes in modern games.
