Switch 2 Sells 3.5M Units in 4 Days, Breaks Nintendo Record

Author:Kristen Update:Nov 14,2025

Nintendo has revealed that the Switch 2 has set a new company record, becoming its fastest-selling hardware worldwide with over 3.5 million units sold within the first four days.

The announcement came via Nintendo's official Twitter/X account: "#NintendoSwitch2 has sold over 3.5 million units worldwide in its first four days, becoming the fastest-selling Nintendo hardware ever globally."

This impressive sales figure was likely achieved thanks to Nintendo's strong supply chain for the Switch 2, a notable improvement over previous hardware shortages that affected both Nintendo and competitors. The strong start validates statements from Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser about having adequate stock to meet US demand.

By comparison, the original Nintendo Switch sold 2.74 million units in its first month.

The sales milestone follows recent reports that the Switch 2 has become Nintendo's fastest-selling console in UK history, eclipsing the Nintendo 3DS's previous record.

In our ongoing Switch 2 review, we noted: "The new system delivers exactly what we anticipated: A significant upgrade to Nintendo's excellent console platform that modernizes outdated features, implements numerous subtle but meaningful design improvements, and introduces an ambitious (though not entirely polished) new control scheme."
