"Rune Slayer: A Beginner's Ultimate Guide"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 05,2025

After two failed launches and months of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally hit the scene, and it's truly spectacular. Whether you're new to MMORPGs or a seasoned player, diving into *Rune Slayer* can be overwhelming. Fear not—we've crafted a comprehensive guide to help you kickstart your adventure in this exciting new world.

Rune Slayer Beginner Tips

Here are some essential tips that would have made our initial journey smoother and more enjoyable.

Do Not Randomly Attack Other Players

When we heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP, we feared it would descend into chaos. Thankfully, that's not the case. **In *Rune Slayer*, death doesn't mean losing everything**—you simply respawn and carry on. However, **attacking other players comes with a bounty**. The more you kill, the higher your bounty grows, and the more items you drop upon death. Thus, to avoid turning the game into a full-loot PvP nightmare, **refrain from attacking other players** unless you have a solid reason or a group to back you up.

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly notice that both your **bank space and inventory are limited**. With a cap of 50 items, your inventory fills up fast. To expand your storage, **craft bags** as soon as possible. You can equip two bags at a time, starting with the **Cotton Bag**. Gather **Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south** (watch out for mobs in the south). Each Cotton Bag adds an extra 10 slots to your inventory.

Your Pets Don’t Actually Die

There's a common misunderstanding that pets die permanently when their health hits zero. This isn't true. **When your pet 'dies', it can’t be summoned for 5 minutes**. You can **check the cooldown by holding T**. Once the time's up, hold T again to summon your pet back. A quick tip: **to heal your pet, store and unstore it at the stable master** using your one free slot.

Grab All the Quests (Yes, All of Them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with quests—too many to list here. Most are one-offs and often blend into the typical "Kill 10 X" quests seen in many MMORPGs. To manage this, **accept every quest you encounter**, including those from the Job board. Completing multiple quests at once is far more efficient than tackling them one by one. You might even find yourself completing several quests simultaneously without realizing it.

Craft Everything at Least Once (Even Things You Don’t Need)

While you should prioritize crafting what you need, **use any spare materials to craft items you don't immediately require**. Crafting new items for the first time often **unlocks more advanced crafting options**. For instance, smelting your first Iron Ore unlocked a range of new Iron Armor crafts for us. So, don't hoard your materials—craft away and discover new possibilities.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is solo-friendly, but as you delve deeper, you'll encounter **tougher enemies** designed for group combat. **Joining a guild** is the easiest way to find a group to tackle these challenges. Use the in-game general chat or the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to find a guild that suits you.

That's all you need to get started. Enjoy your journey in *Rune Slayer*, and if you're yet to begin, don't forget to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community support.
