Adapted from BOOM! Studios' graphic novels by Arash Amel, Butterfly delivers a "character-driven spy thriller interweaving family drama with the cutthroat world of international espionage."

The series follows David Jung (Kim), an unpredictable former U.S. intelligence operative residing in South Korea. His precarious existence shatters when past decisions resurface, forcing him into a deadly cat-and-mouse game with Rebecca (Hardesty), a ruthless assassin employed by the shadowy Caddis organization.

"Butterfly fulfills my vision to unite American and Korean storytelling traditions," Kim explained. "The incredible creative team and our international cast have beautifully captured these two cultures that mean so much to me."

The Mentalist and Gotham alum Ken Woodruff serves as showrunner alongside novelist Steph Cha. The ensemble includes Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, Charles Parnell, Sean Dulake, and Nayoon Kim, with special appearances by Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa.

The executive production team features Woodruff, Cha, Kim, John Cheng (3AD), Stephen Christy and Ross Richie (BOOM! Studios), plus Arash Amel (The Amel Company).
