Palworld Update 0.5.0: Crossplay, Blueprint Upgrades, Photo Mode Added

Palworld's latest update, v0.5.0, brings a host of exciting new features, including the much-anticipated crossplay functionality across all platforms. This update allows players to seamlessly connect and play together, regardless of their chosen device.

One of the standout additions is the Global Palbox, which enables players to store Pal data and transfer Pals between different worlds. Additionally, the Dimensional Pal Storage system introduces a new storage option with a capacity 10 times larger than the regular Palbox. This can be utilized both by guild members and as personal storage with customizable private settings.

Players can now enjoy a new Cosmetic Armour System, allowing them to change their character's appearance without affecting armor stats through the Antique Dresser. A new Photo Mode, accessible via the Pal Command Wheel, offers the ability to take stunning screenshots by hiding the UI and adjusting the camera freely. The Drafting Table feature allows for the creation of higher-rarity blueprints by combining lower-rarity ones, adding depth to crafting mechanics. Dedicated servers for Mac have also been introduced, enhancing the gaming experience for Mac users.

Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players. Developer Pocketpair is committed to the game's future, with a content roadmap for 2025 that includes an "ending scenario" and further new content. The game's initial launch on Steam for $30 and its simultaneous inclusion in Game Pass on Xbox and PC broke sales and concurrent player number records. The overwhelming success led to Pocketpair forming a new business, Palworld Entertainment, in collaboration with Sony, aimed at expanding the IP and bringing the game to PS5.

However, the success of Palworld has not been without challenges. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair, alleging multiple patent infringements. In response, Pocketpair has adjusted the mechanics of summoning Pals and is prepared to defend its position in court.

▼Specification Adjustments
・Buildings can now be placed even if they overlap with a Pal
・When connecting foundations or roofs, the connected pieces will now automatically align in the same direction
・Assigning an Ice Pal to the Flea Market will slow down item decay in storage and sales
・Added torches at the entrances of random dungeons for better visibility
・Players can now sit on chairs and cushions
・Some weapons that dealt ultra-high damage to trees will no longer drop items upon destruction
・Added new NPCs and improved NPC behaviour during conversations

▼Balance Adjustments
・Adjusted elemental chest rewards. Dog Coins will always drop from these chests and they also have a small chance of containing work suitability books. (Existing chests in current worlds will retain old drop tables; new ones will follow the updated table.)
・Increased EXP gained from defeating the Attack Chopper
・Increased the DPS of Flamethrowers
・Adjusted the default attack used by Electric and Dark Pals when all active skills are on cooldown, making them more in line with the other elements
・Some human NPCs now have work suitability and work animations when assigned tasks at a base
・Summoned raid bosses can no longer damage other bases
・Added Water attribute to Dumud
・NPC event rewards have been adjusted. To maintain fairness, all NPC conversation logs have been reset, allowing players to claim rewards again!

・Holding the +/- button in the Pal Soul Enhancement UI will now continuously increase/decrease values

・Fixed an issue where players could get launched into space while climbing

・Fixed a bug where Bounty Tokens with identical passive effects did not stack properly
