LEGO Launches In-House Gaming Projects

Author:Kristen Update:May 26,2025

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has recently shared the company’s ambitious plans to broaden its footprint in the digital realm by venturing into video game development. The iconic toy manufacturer aims to craft gaming experiences independently as well as through strategic partnerships, ensuring the LEGO brand continues to engage children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms.

“We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.” Niels Christiansen

This strategic shift towards in-house game development does not signal an end to LEGO's collaborations with third-party developers. Just last month, journalist Jason Schreier reported that TT Games, renowned for their LEGO-themed titles, is actively developing a new LEGO game, which might be linked to one of Warner Bros.’ popular franchises.

Currently, LEGO's most notable gaming endeavor is its ongoing partnership with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year was a resounding success, quickly becoming one of the game's most beloved features.

Over the past two decades, LEGO has been synonymous with the adventure game series developed by TT Games. Although new releases from the studio have been scarce recently, there are whispers of an upcoming LEGO Harry Potter game, spurred by the commercial triumph of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Further demonstrating LEGO's versatility in the gaming industry, the company teamed up with 2K Games to launch LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game that hit the market last year, offering fans yet another exciting way to experience the LEGO universe.
