Honkai Star Rail 3.2 to Introduce Changes to Banner System for More Player Freedom

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 21,2025

Honkai: Star Rail's gacha system is getting a major overhaul, giving players more control over their character pulls. Leaks suggest version 3.2 will introduce a customizable pity system for limited banners, a significant departure from the current system. Instead of the standard 50/50 pull, players will be able to select their preferred characters for their pity pool.

According to leaks from Sakura Haven, the 3.2 update will let you choose your preferred characters from a larger group to partially or completely replace the default 50/50 pool. Currently, the 50/50 pity pool contains 7 standard characters. In 3.2, this will change. You'll select 7 characters from a larger pool to create your personalized 50/50 pity pool. This means that when you lose the 50/50, you'll get a character from *your* customized pool instead of the standard pool.

Initially, this larger pool will include the 7 standard characters plus a selection of others. This customizable pity system directly addresses a common gacha frustration: the randomness of losing 50/50 pulls. By prioritizing desired characters, players will have a greater chance of obtaining units that fit their playstyle.

While details on which characters will be selectable are still scarce—it's unclear if past limited characters, current banner units, or entirely new characters will be included—the potential impact is huge. This player-centric change reflects HoYoverse's commitment to refining Honkai: Star Rail and improving player experience. It could even set a new standard for gacha mechanics in other games.

The community is buzzing with anticipation. The 3.2 update's customizable pity system promises to significantly alter the gameplay experience, and players eagerly await its arrival.
