Author:Kristen Update:Sep 08,2025

The thriving success continues at Warhammer 40,000 creator Games Workshop, which has revealed plans to distribute £20 million (approximately $27 million) in bonuses to its employees.

The Nottingham, UK-based company, known for its Warhammer tabletop games and expansive universes, reported core revenue of £560 million for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025, a rise from £494.7 million in the prior period. Licensing revenue reached £50 million, up from £31 million. Core profit climbed to £210 million from £174.8 million, while licensing profit grew to £45 million from £27 million, resulting in a pre-tax profit of £255 million, up from £203 million.

Driven by these impressive earnings and “to acknowledge our employees’ role in achieving these results,” Games Workshop is allocating £20 million to its workforce, an increase from last year’s £18 million. The bonus will be evenly distributed among approximately 1,500 employees, equating to roughly £13,333 (about $18,000) per person.

Games Workshop’s primary business revolves around selling miniatures that fans assemble and paint for tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000. However, it is increasingly becoming an intellectual property powerhouse, generating substantial revenue from successful video games such as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and animations like Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level episode. Last year, Games Workshop and Amazon sealed an agreement for Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe, which will include films and TV series. Space Marine 3 is also in the works.

What’s next for Games Workshop? The company noted that licensing revenue hit an all-time high this period and is not expected to repeat in 2025/26, though it remains a key priority. Warhammer 40,000 and the broader Warhammer brand are more popular than ever, and these results suggest no signs of slowing down.

Games Workshop recently hosted its annual Warhammer Skulls showcase, featuring all the latest announcements and trailers. Standouts include a Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and a new Siege mode for Space Marine 2.
