During Nintendo's April 2 Switch 2 Direct, Deltarune was confirmed to launch alongside chapters 3 and 4 with special console-exclusive features.

Developer Toby Fox revealed in a Fangamer newsletter that Switch 2 players will access a unique area utilizing the new Joy-Con's mouse controls. Fox explained, "We've created a SPECIAL ROOM exclusively for Switch 2 that fully utilizes DUAL CONTROLLER MOUSE FUNCTIONALITY - something only possible on Nintendo's next-gen system."

While players on other platforms can access this area, their controls will differ significantly. Progress from Deltarune's Nintendo Switch demo (Chapters 1-2) will carry over to the full release.

Free Access to Future Deltarune Content

The newsletter confirmed Deltarune's $24.99 price point, covering Chapters 1-4. Chapters 1 (2018) and 2 (2021) were originally free releases, with Chapters 3-5 initially planned as paid DLC.

Fox announced a policy change: all future chapters will be complimentary updates. "As we complete more content," Fox shared, "I want players to feel they're getting extraordinary value from their purchase."
