Während des Nintendo Direct für die Switch 2 am 2. April wurde bestätigt, dass Deltarune gemeinsam mit den Kapiteln 3 und 4 erscheinen und über spezielle, konsolenexklusive Funktionen verfügen wird.

Entwickler Toby Fox verriet in einem Fangamer-Newsletter, dass Spieler auf der Switch 2 eine einzigartige Zone betreten können, die die Maussteuerung des neuen Joy-Con nutzt. Fox erklärte: "Wir haben exklusiv für die Switch 2 einen SPECIAL ROOM erschaffen, der die DUAL CONTROLLER MOUSE FUNCTIONALITY voll ausschöpft – was nur auf Nintendos Next-Gen-System möglich ist."

Zwar können Spieler auf anderen Plattformen diese Zone ebenfalls betreten, ihre Steuerung wird jedoch erheblich anders sein. Der Spielstand aus der Deltarune-Nintendo-Switch-Demo (Kapitel 1-2) wird in die Vollversion übernommen.

Der Newsletter bestätigte den Preis von 24,99 US-Dollar für Deltarune, der die Kapitel 1 bis 4 umfasst. Die Kapitel 1 (2018) und 2 (2021) waren ursprünglich kostenlose Veröffentlichungen, Kapitel 3 bis 5 waren zunächst als kostenpflichtige DLCs geplant.

Fox kündigte eine Änderung dieser Richtlinie an: Alle zukünftigen Kapitel werden kostenlose Updates sein. "Während wir mehr Inhalte fertigstellen", teilte Fox mit, "möchte ich, dass die Spieler das Gefühl haben, einen außergewöhnlichen Wert für ihren Kauf zu erhalten."
