The highly anticipated game from the young French studio Sandfall Interactive, titled Clair Obscur, is already making waves in the gaming community with its early evaluations. Critics are lauding the game for its deep narrative, mature tone, and exhilarating combat, with some even drawing comparisons to a modern Final Fantasy.

RPG Gamer's reviewer was particularly struck by the fact that this debut project from such a youthful team managed to deliver an experience comparable to that of a veteran studio within just a few hours. If Clair Obscur can sustain this momentum, it stands a strong chance of clinching a victory at The Game Awards 2025.

An IGN journalist, after experiencing the demo, was left craving more, eager to delve deeper into the game's world and engage in further battles. They were astounded by the accomplishments of Sandfall Interactive's young developers.

Kotaku's author went as far as to predict that Clair Obscur could become a turn-based classic, likening it to a new Final Fantasy. They praised the innovative integration of QTE mechanics into the traditional turn-based combat system.

The game's visual style and the maturity of its narrative have also received widespread acclaim from reviewers.

Clair Obscur is slated for release on April 24, 2025, and will be available on current-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series) as well as PC via Steam.
