Zelda: Tears Inspired by Galaxy Video Awes

A recent online video ingeniously reimagines Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as a Super Mario Galaxy experience. Released in May 2023, Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to 2017's Breath of the Wild, is the latest installment in the acclaimed Zelda series. Frequently compared to other Nintendo hits like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and various Super Mario titles, this fan-made video highlights striking similarities.

Reddit user Ultrababouin created the video, cleverly titled "Super Zelda Galaxy," showcasing a Super Mario Galaxy-inspired edit of Tears of the Kingdom gameplay. The montage, a near month-long project and a June design contest entry on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, evokes nostalgia with its recreation of Super Mario Galaxy's iconic opening sequence.

Ultrababouin, a prolific builder with past creations including a Tears of the Kingdom version of the Master Cycle Zero (a vehicle from Breath of the Wild), has earned the title of "Engineer of the Month" twice. This latest video leverages Tears of the Kingdom's new build system, allowing players to construct vehicles and machines, a feature absent in its predecessor. The community showcases impressive builds, with examples ranging from Ultrababouin's work to another user's functional aircraft carrier capable of launching a bomber.

The upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, slated for release on September 26th, marks a departure from tradition. Unlike previous entries featuring Link, this game will star Princess Zelda herself.
