The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025, the latest thrilling PUBG Mobile esports tournament, concluded this past weekend with team Yangon Galacticos emerging as the champions. Their victory earned them the lion's share of the $20,000 prize pool, a testament to their dominance throughout the competition.

The tournament unfolded on PUBG's newest and largest map to date, Rondo. Sixteen teams, including notable qualifiers like D'Xavier from PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers from PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE from PMSL CSA Fall, battled it out for supremacy on this expansive new battleground.

Yangon Galacticos clinched the title under the innovative SMASH format rules introduced for the PMRC Rondo Cup. According to these rules, a team needed to accumulate over 30 points and secure a victory in a separate match to win. However, as no team achieved this after six matches, Yangon Galacticos were declared winners due to their overwhelming points lead.

The competition saw HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports securing second and third places, respectively, underscoring the success of the Rondo Cup and PUBG Mobile's ambitious esports initiatives that have been gaining momentum since 2024.

Interestingly, despite the introduction of the SMASH rule, no team won via this method, raising questions about its future in upcoming tournaments. The decision to retain or revise this rule will likely hinge on whether it promotes more skilled and entertaining gameplay.

For dedicated PUBG Mobile fans looking for a change of pace from the intense shooting action, consider exploring other gaming options. The latest edition of Ahead of the Game features the upcoming tower defense game, Sushimon, offering a fresh and engaging alternative to your usual gameplay.
