Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Stream Select Games on Consoles Now

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 23,2025

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members have a new advantage at their fingertips: the ability to stream select games directly to their Xbox consoles without the need for downloads. This exciting update was shared through an Xbox Wire news post, highlighting that members can now enjoy games from the Game Pass catalog and certain owned titles on their Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One consoles using cloud streaming technology.

Previously, cloud streaming was available on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, and Meta Quest headsets, but this marks the first time the feature has been extended to Xbox consoles. This innovation allows users to bypass lengthy downloads and conserve valuable hard drive space.

To take advantage of this feature on your Xbox console, follow these steps:

  • Go to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
  • Look for the cloud badge on game pages to identify cloud-playable games. You can also use filters to quickly find games by selecting Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming.
  • Select the game you want to play and choose Play with Cloud Gaming to start streaming.
  • You can also start streaming directly from the Store app after purchasing select cloud-playable games.

Additionally, you can play any game installed on your Xbox console via streaming on devices with supported web browsers by visiting this link. It's worth noting that this feature is no longer supported on the Xbox mobile app but remains available on smartphones through the browser link. Xbox is also working to extend this feature to Samsung and Amazon Fire smart TVs, as well as Meta Quest headsets.

In another significant update, Xbox has announced that starting this month, Xbox and Xbox 360 backward compatible games will also support remote play, further enhancing the gaming experience.
