Microsoft has officially unveiled the Wave 1 lineup for Xbox Game Pass in May 2025. According to a post on Xbox Wire, 12 games are scheduled to join the subscription service, running through May 20th. Among these titles, the standout is "Doom: The Dark Ages," the latest entry in id Software's iconic FPS series, launching day-one on Xbox Game Pass. However, it isn’t the only day-one release for May 2025.

Launching today, May 6th, is "Dredge" (available on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), arriving on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Here’s what Microsoft had to say about it:

"Dredge" is a single-player fishing adventure with a dark twist. Earn money by selling your catch, upgrade your vessel, and uncover hidden secrets beneath the waves. Explore a mysterious archipelago and discover why some mysteries are better left undisturbed.

On May 7th, several games join the platform:

  • "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" (Cloud, Console, and PC) — Available on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.
  • "Dungeons of Hinterberg" (Console) — Now available on Game Pass Standard.
  • "Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn" (Xbox Series X|S) — Also available on Game Pass Standard.
  • "Metal Slug Tactics" (Console) — Now accessible via Game Pass Standard.

May 8th brings even more exciting arrivals:

  • "Revenge of the Savage Planet" (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) — Releasing day-one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

"Set in a universe derailed by corporate greed, you’re cast aside on the fringes of space with minimal resources. To exact revenge on your ex-employer and return home, you'll need to explore thoroughly, gather upgrades, and dig deep into alien mysteries."

  • "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed" (Cloud, Console, and PC) — Joining Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.

"Team up with the legendary Ninja Turtles to battle crime and unravel a thrilling tale of justice and chaos. With April’s street intel and Splinter’s wisdom, prepare for an unforgettable adventure!"

On May 13th, "Warhammer: Vermintide 2" (Cloud and Console) returns to Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard.

"Return to the chaotic world of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. Team up with friends to fend off Chaos and Skaven forces in this intense cooperative FPS. Featuring new enemies, career paths, talent trees, weapons, and more."

The highlight of the month is "Doom: The Dark Ages" (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), launching day-one on May 15th across Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

"As the prequel to 'Doom' (2016) and 'Doom Eternal,' this cinematic epic continues the Doom Slayer's saga. Set in a dark medieval world, players will face Hell's forces with upgraded tools and early access to exclusive content."

A day later, on May 16th, "Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo" (Cloud, Console, and PC) debuts on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

"This papercraft adventure invites you to meet the colorful inhabitants of Limbo, a realm where regretful souls relive the same day endlessly."

The Wave 1 lineup wraps up on May 20th with two more additions:

  • "Firefighting Simulator: The Squad" (Cloud, Console, and PC) — Available on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.
