Alien Movies in (Chronological) Order

1. AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004)

The Xenomorph saga begins chronologically with "AVP: Alien vs. Predator," the first of the franchise's crossover films. Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, known for Resident Evil and Event Horizon, this movie introduces the epic "battle of the titans" concept originally seen in a 1989 comic. Set in 2004, it reveals that Predators, known as "Yautja," have visited Earth for millennia, with ancient cults sacrificing themselves to Xenomorph facehuggers to spawn adult Xenomorphs for the Predators to hunt as the ultimate prey. Unfortunately, the Predators' 2004 hunting expedition goes awry.

2. Aliens vs Predator: Requiem (2007)

Continuing in modern times, before the main Alien series, "Aliens vs Predator: Requiem" directly follows the events of "AVP." The film introduces an Alien-Predator hybrid, the "Predalien," causing havoc in a small Colorado town. A seasoned Predator arrives to rectify the situation, leading to intense action. This marked the final Alien-Predator crossover film. For more on the Predator series, check our guide on how to watch the Predator movies in order.
