Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer

If you're new to the Archer class, this section is for you. Veterans can skip ahead. As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to maintain a safe distance from enemies and let your arrows do the talking. Archers can deal significant damage, but they're not built to withstand it.

Archers wear Medium armor, which offers more protection than Light armor but less than Heavy armor. Unlike Magicians or Priests who wear Light armor and have protective spells, or Warriors in Heavy armor, Archers depend on others to absorb damage, particularly their Pets.

Tamed Pets are crucial for Archers. While your pet options are initially limited, Archers can eventually access a variety of unique pets, enhancing their effectiveness and making them one of the most formidable classes in Rune Slayer.

How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer

At Level 30, all classes in Rune Slayer choose a subclass. For Archers, the options are Sharpshooter or Beast Tamer. Opt for Beast Tamer as soon as you reach Level 30.

There's currently no compelling reason to choose Sharpshooter. The Beast Tamer's Alpha Predator passive ability is invaluable, allowing you to tame unique beasts like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and especially Mud Crabs. This subclass makes Beast Tamers resilient and powerful enough to tackle many group activities solo.
