Industry whispers point to a Switch 2 release no earlier than April 2025. GamesIndustry.biz podcast host Chris Dring, citing developer sources, stated that developers have been advised not to expect a launch within the current fiscal year (ending March 2025). Many developers reportedly hope for an April or May launch, aiming for an early, rather than late, 2025 release.

This anticipated launch window might be a strategic move to avoid competition with other major releases, such as the speculated Fall 2025 launch of Rockstar Games' "GTA 6."

Adding fuel to the speculation, journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe hinted on the O X do Controle podcast that Nintendo may announce the Switch 2 before August 2024. This aligns with Nintendo's stated intention to make an announcement before the end of the current fiscal year (March 31, 2025). However, without official confirmation from Nintendo, these remain rumors.
