Surprise Hero Tops Marvel Rivals with Stellar Stats

To enhance gameplay and increase the popularity of underplayed characters like Storm and Black Widow, NetEase Games introduced significant balance adjustments to the heroes of Marvel Rivals in January, coinciding with the start of Season 1. These updates have notably transformed the game dynamics, particularly for Storm.

Post-update, Storm has seen remarkable improvements, propelling her to the top of the win rate charts according to Rivals Meta. Previously languishing in lower tiers, Storm now boasts a win rate of over 56% in competitive mode, with a pick rate soaring to 16%. This marks a significant leap from her earlier days when she barely registered a 1% pick rate, now surpassing renowned heroes like Adam Warlock, Jeff, Spider-Man, Hela, Hulk, Magic, and Iron Man.

Despite Storm's rise, the most popular character pairing in Season 1 continues to be Cloak and Dagger, although their win percentage has dipped below 49%. On the other end of the spectrum, Black Widow remains the game's least popular and least successful character.

With an ever-growing player base, including those engaged in competitive mode, Marvel Rivals is witnessing substantial growth. Achieving the prestigious Grandmaster title is a feat accomplished by only 0.1% of players, despite the existence of the Celestial rank, making it an elite achievement.

Reaching such heights is no easy task, yet one player has achieved something extraordinary in Season 1. This player reached Grandmaster without taking any damage across 108 games, playing exclusively as Rocket Raccoon and focusing solely on healing teammates. They managed to restore over 2.9 million health points and recorded nearly 3,500 assists, all while avoiding knockouts.
