DC Studios has unveiled a thrilling new trailer for the upcoming Superman film, directed by James Gunn and set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. The three-minute trailer provides fans with a deeper glimpse into the expansive world of superheroes and villains that will populate this cinematic adventure. Among the standout moments, we see Nathan Fillion in the role of Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, effortlessly dispatching foes with a casual flick of his hand. Isabela Merced's portrayal of Hawkgirl also shines, while María Gabriela de Faría gives us our best look yet at The Engineer.
The trailer reveals a pivotal moment where The Engineer, played by María Gabriela de Faría, is responsible for destroying the robots that care for Superman in the Fortress of Solitude, including the beloved Kelex. In a previous trailer, we witnessed a heartbroken Superman cradling Kelex after a fierce battle. Adding to the excitement, Krypto the Superdog is seen executing a flying punch against The Engineer, showcasing his fearless nature in combat.
The trailer also features Lex Luthor, portrayed by Nicholas Hoult, and Ultraman in action-packed sequences. We get extended looks at Edi Gathegi's Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan's Rex Mason / Metamorpho. Additionally, the Hammer of Boravia, a brand new character created by Gunn for this movie, makes an appearance as expected. There's a growing speculation that this character might be Ultraman in disguise, adding an intriguing layer of mystery to the film.

Central to the plot is the dynamic relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane, highlighted by a heated interview where Lois confronts Clark about his actions as Superman. The tension escalates as they argue over the ethics of Superman's intervention in a war on foreign soil, with Superman defending his actions by stating, "I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!" The consequences of Superman's actions are immediate, as the Hammer of Boravia launches an attack on Downtown Metropolis in retaliation.
In another compelling scene, a member of the public comes to Superman's aid, helping him out of a hole in the ground during the battle with the Hammer of Boravia. This moment of support stands in stark contrast to other scenes where the public's reaction to Superman is less favorable, with some even hurling objects at him and screaming in fear. This dichotomy underscores the complex public perception of Superman's role and actions in the film.
