Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with Season 4 Episode 8, now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development for the game, following its initial release in February 2024 and subsequent negative reviews. Rocksteady announced on December 9, 2024, that support for the game would cease after the January 14 patch, just 10 months after its launch. Despite this, the game's servers will remain operational, allowing players to continue enjoying the live-service elements with friends.
The unexpected shift to a live-service model is believed to have contributed to the game's rapid decline. However, players can still dive into the final content update, Season 4 Episode 8: Balance, which includes an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, new Notorious weapons, and a concluding Mayhem mission against Brainiac. The update also features numerous bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels, rewarding players retroactively.
For those who missed out on the game during its short run, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now available on PlayStation Plus until February 3, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered. Additionally, thanks to the Season 4 Episode 7 update, players can enjoy the game offline, ensuring access to the main campaign and seasonal story missions even if the servers are eventually shut down.
Explore the medieval Elseworld in Episode 8: Balance, with new twists on familiar locations and new areas to discover. Challenge yourself at The Quarry, a fortified citadel that you must besiege to defeat Brainiac. The Arena offers the perfect setting for jousting tournaments or interdimensional warfare, while the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van evoke an age of chivalry and honor.
The Infamy Set for Episode 8 draws inspiration from Libra, a dangerous DC Super-Villain obsessed with balance. The set applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack. This set promotes a high-risk, high-reward playstyle, encouraging bold and dynamic gameplay.
Complementing Libra’s Infamy Set, The Silencer’s Complete Silence weapons deal 200% bonus damage to enemies affected by Scales of Libra. The Alt-Fire mode delivers 1,000% bonus damage and creates a Silencer Zone, reducing enemy damage by 100% within the zone, ideal for crowd control.
Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets pierce through enemies, applying Scales of Libra and potentially electrifying them. This weapon can devastate groups when positioned correctly.
Chronos’ Equilibrium amplifies the glass cannon playstyle, offering a 25% bonus damage increase for every 1% of Shield missing, pushing players into the heart of battle for maximum impact.
