Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the resounding success of Helldivers 2 (released last year to critical acclaim), is currently developing a new, ambitious game concept. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media, announcing work on a "high-concept" project and inviting fan input.

The response was varied, with suggestions ranging from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and also mentioned exploring a Star Fox-esque concept within the "rail shooter" genre.

While Arrowhead remains tight-lipped about specifics, their active community engagement is evident. Helldivers 2's triumph—a standout title of 2024—sets a high benchmark for their next endeavor.

A recent update has significantly boosted Helldivers 2's player count on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, a surprise release at the 2024 Game Awards, appears to be a hit.

This update has delighted Helldivers 2 players. The long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, coupled with the addition of a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle and new urban warfare maps, are major highlights. Furthermore, with a rumored Killzone crossover on the horizon, Helldivers 2 looks poised for continued success in 2025.
