Subtitles are a fantastic accessibility feature, but not everyone's cup of tea. Need to toggle them on or off in Avowed? Here's how.

Avowed offers initial subtitle settings, but you can easily change them later. You'll find two places to adjust subtitles: the "UI" and "Accessibility" settings tabs. Look for "Conversation Subtitles" and "Chatter Subtitles" and set them to your preference. The "Accessibility" tab provides the clearest and easiest access to these settings.

Why Some Players Disable Subtitles

While subtitles are a boon for many (myself included!), some find them distracting. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal preference. Enable them if you need or prefer them; disable them if you don't.

Avowed's Accessibility Features

Avowed boasts a solid suite of accessibility options, though not as extensive as some other titles. Beyond basic subtitle toggling, you can customize subtitle size, background opacity, and display duration for improved readability. For players prone to motion sickness, options to reduce camera shake and head bobbing are also included. Additional features offer aim assist adjustments, toggleable crouch/sprint, and other quality-of-life improvements, enhancing the game's accessibility for a wider range of players.

That's how you manage subtitles in Avowed. Enjoy!
