Stellar Blade's PC Debut Set for 2025

Stellar Blade is coming to PC in 2025! Initially a PlayStation exclusive, this sci-fi action game will soon be available to a wider audience. However, there's a potential catch.

PC Release Confirmed, PSN Link Possible

SHIFT UP, the developers, confirmed the PC release during a recent financial report, citing the growing PC gaming market and the success of titles like Black Myth: Wukong as reasons for optimism. While a specific date isn't set, the company plans ongoing marketing to maintain the game's popularity until the PC launch. This includes a November 20th collaboration DLC with NieR:Automata and a Photo Mode.

However, because Stellar Blade is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and SHIFT UP is a second-party developer for Sony, a PSN account link for PC players is highly likely. This would unfortunately exclude players in regions without access to PSN. Sony's stated reason is to ensure "safe" gameplay for its live service titles, a justification that's been questioned for single-player games subject to the same restriction.

Will a PSN Account Be Required? The Uncertainty Remains.

While SHIFT UP retains IP ownership, the possibility of a mandatory PSN link remains. This could negatively impact PC sales, potentially preventing the game from surpassing console sales, a goal stated by SHIFT UP. The need for a PSN account remains uncertain, creating a significant question mark for potential PC players.
