Stellar Blade: PC Port Hinted at by Developers

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port for the popular PS5 exclusive. While no official announcement has been made, recent statements from the company's CEO and CFO suggest a PC release is under consideration.

Stellar Blade's success, including strong sales and positive critical reception (an 82 average on OpenCritic), has fueled this interest. The game's April launch saw it become the top-selling title in the US, outperforming titles like Helldivers 2 and Dragon's Dogma 2. During an IPO press conference, CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is being "considered," but contractual obligations with publisher Sony prevent a concrete timeline. CFO Jae-woo Ahn added that the shift in AAA title consumer bases towards PC is a significant factor in their evaluation, suggesting a PC port could significantly boost the IP's value.

A previous financial report from Shift Up already indicated exploration of both a sequel and a PC port for Stellar Blade. Given Sony's increasing trend of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC (with God of War: Ragnarok being the latest example), a PC release of Stellar Blade seems increasingly probable.

While the decision on a PC port remains pending, Shift Up continues to refine the PS5 experience. A recent update unfortunately introduced some graphical issues, but the developer has acknowledged these and is actively working on a fix.
