"Star Wars KOTOR Remake: Developer Confirms All Planned Features Still in Development"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 25,2025

Saber Interactive has reaffirmed its commitment to all its previously announced projects, despite the lack of updates on high-profile titles like the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. Following the recent announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to Twitter to reassure fans that every game the studio has announced is still in development.

"Saber Interactive stands as one of the largest independent developers globally," Willits stated. "We're actively working on a diverse array of games across multiple genres. Rest assured, everything we've talked about remains in development, and we'll share more details on our upcoming games as soon as we have exciting news to reveal."

The most talked-about project in Willits' statement is undoubtedly the KOTOR remake, a game shrouded in mystery since its announcement in 2021. The project has seen multiple developers and has seemingly paused and resumed development several times, leaving fans eagerly awaiting any sign of progress. Despite the silence, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed in April 2024 that the KOTOR project was taken with them during their split from Embracer Group and is actively being developed.

"It's evident and undeniable that we are working on this," Karch stated at the time. "It's been covered extensively in the press. I can assure you that the game is alive and well, and we are committed to surpassing consumer expectations."

Willits' recent statement echoes Karch's sentiments, yet fans are still left without any new visuals or details beyond the initial announcement trailer for the KOTOR remake.

Play In addition to the KOTOR remake, Saber Interactive is busy with other titles, including John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival, both slated for a 2025 release, though specific dates have yet to be announced. The studio is also developing a new Turok game and an untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender project.

With the addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 to their lineup, Saber Interactive continues to expand its portfolio. For more insights into what chapters and enemy factions might appear in Space Marine 3, be sure to check out IGN's detailed article.
