Author:Kristen Update:Feb 25,2025

Elliot Page's Pageboy Productions is adapting Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls into a television series.

Deadline reports Pageboy Productions has secured the rights from Quantic Dream to develop a TV series based on the acclaimed PlayStation adventure game. The project, currently in its early stages, aims to retain the game's signature non-linear narrative structure. Further details, including casting and release dates, remain undisclosed.

Page described his experience filming the game as "one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences" of his career, highlighting the story's "rich narrative and emotional depth." He expressed a desire to create a unique adaptation that resonates with both existing fans and new viewers.

Matt Jordan Smitt, Head of Development and Production at Pageboy, emphasized the team's commitment to honoring the game's legacy while incorporating fresh perspectives. He noted that exploring themes of survival and the impact of crucial decisions will be central to the series' narrative.

Originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2013, Beyond: Two Souls later arrived on PlayStation 4 (2015) and PC (2019). Directed and written by David Cage, the game follows Jodie Holmes, a young woman with psychic abilities and her connection to a spirit named Aiden. The game's non-linear narrative and star-studded cast, including Page and Willem Dafoe, garnered significant attention.

David Cage confirmed his collaboration with Page on the TV adaptation, although the specifics of his involvement remain unconfirmed. He expressed his enthusiasm for the project and confidence in Page's ability to create a compelling television series.

The Beyond: Two Souls TV series is still in early development, with a release date yet to be announced. You can find IGN's original review of the game here and a compilation of all IGN's Quantic Dream game reviews here.
