Top Spring 2025 Anime Recommendations

I've highlighted ***The Apothecary Diaries, Once Upon A Witch’s Death, The Beginning After The End, To Be Hero X, and WITCH WATCH*** in my roundup of Spring 2025 anime dubs coming to Crunchyroll, but there are some great additional picks that should be on your watch list from the list above too.

***Devil May Cry*** stands out as Netflix's latest animated video game adaptation, with its trailer featuring a Limp Bizkit soundtrack and a newly composed Evanescence track, setting a bold tone for its target audience. Drawing from the success of shows like *Castlevania*, *Arcane*, and *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners*, and avoiding the pitfalls of less successful adaptations like *Tekken: Bloodline* and *Dragon’s Dogma*, Netflix has a mixed track record. However, with creator Adi Shankar's experience on *Castlevania* and Studio Mir's impressive work on *Avatar: The Last Airbender* and *Korra*, even those unfamiliar with the *Devil May Cry* universe should enjoy the adventures of the iconic character Dante.

In ***Moonrise***, the moon embarks on a quest for independence, a concept that could have been a sequel to 2021's *Moonfall*. This original net animation boasts blockbuster talent, including animation by WIT Studio (*Attack On Titan, Vinland Saga*), character designs by manga icon Hiromu Arakawa (*Fullmetal Alchemist*), and direction by Masashi Koizuka (*Attack On Titan* Seasons 2 & 3). With limited story details available, the anticipation for a special experience is high.

Lastly, ***YAIBA: Samurai Legends***, though less known internationally, has remained popular since its manga debut in the late 1980s. Created by Gosho Aoyama, famous for *Case Closed*, this samurai comedy series follows Yaiba Kurogane's battles against a formidable foe with a magical katana and a demon army. With WIT Studio handling the animation and Aoyama directly involved in production, this second anime adaptation promises a blend of *Detective Conan*'s style with the humor of early *Dragon Ball* and numerous historical references.
