Split Fiction Novel Sells 2M Copies in a Week

Hazelight Games' latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, is experiencing a phenomenal launch, selling 2 million copies in its first week. Released on March 6th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the dual-protagonist story quickly became another triumph for the studio. Hazelight celebrated this strong start on social media, expressing their amazement at the overwhelming support from both new and longtime fans.

Just 48 hours after launch, Split Fiction had already sold 1 million copies. An additional million copies were sold in the following five days, highlighting the game's rapid and sustained popularity. Considering Split Fiction's co-op nature, the actual player count is likely significantly higher than the number of copies sold. This is further boosted by the game's Friend's Pass feature, allowing one player to purchase the game and grant free access to a friend. With continued positive social media buzz, sales are expected to climb even further.

Hazelight's previous title, the 2021 Game of the Year winner It Takes Two, saw comparable success, selling approximately 1 million copies within a few weeks of its March 2021 launch. This number soared to 10 million by February 2023 and an impressive 20 million by October 2024.
