SoMoGa Drops A Revamped Version Of 16-Bit Classic JRPG Vay On Android

SoMoGa Inc. has brought back the beloved classic 16-bit RPG, Vay, with a revamped version now available on Android, iOS, and Steam. Originally released in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD and developed by Hertz, Vay was later localized for the US by Working Designs. SoMoGa kept the game alive with a re-release on iOS back in 2008, and now it's back with a fresh look and feel.

What’s New In Revamped Vay?

The revamped Vay offers an extensive adventure with over 100 enemies and a dozen epic bosses. You'll dive into more than 90 different areas, each brimming with excitement. One of the standout features is the user-selectable difficulty levels, allowing you to tailor the challenge to your preference.

With the new auto-save feature, you can rest easy knowing your progress is safe. The game also supports Bluetooth controllers, giving you the freedom to play your way. As you explore, you can purchase new gear and items, and as your characters level up, they'll unlock new spells. Additionally, an AI system allows your characters to fight autonomously, adding a strategic layer to your gameplay.

What’s The Story?

Set in a distant galaxy, Vay's story unfolds in the aftermath of a massive interstellar war that occurred a millennium ago. A colossal machine, with a malfunctioning guidance system, crashed onto the technologically primitive planet Vay. This machine, programmed for destruction, unleashed chaos, leaving a trail of devastation.

In Vay, you take on the role of a hero on a quest to rescue your kidnapped wife and possibly save the world. The narrative kicks off on your wedding day when your peaceful kingdom is suddenly attacked, and your bride is abducted. This sets you on an epic journey across the world to stop the menacing war machines.

The game's story is captivating from the outset, blending nostalgia with fresh elements while staying true to its JRPG roots. Characters gain experience and gold through random encounters, and the game features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with both English and Japanese audio.

You can dive into the revamped Vay on the Google Play Store for a premium price of $5.99. Don't miss out on this classic adventure brought to life with modern enhancements.
