"Shiny Keldeo and Meltan Now Available in Pokemon Home"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 18,2025

Exciting news for *Pokemon Home* enthusiasts: Shiny Keldeo and Shiny Meltan are now within your reach following the update to version 3.2.2. However, to snag these coveted Shiny Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, you'll need to embark on a rewarding journey. The effort is well worth it, especially for Shiny Keldeo, which was previously Shiny-locked and couldn’t be obtained legitimately. Once you’ve added these shinies to your collection, you can transfer them to other *Pokemon* games linked to your *Home* account.

To capture Shiny Keldeo in *Pokemon Home*, you must first complete the Galar Pokedex. This involves filling out the Pokedexes not only with Pokémon from *Sword & Shield* but also those from the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs. Each Pokémon must have the Galar origin mark, a slanted PokéBall logo located above their stat screen, indicating they originated from *Sword & Shield* or its DLCs. Pokémon transferred from other games won’t count towards completing these Pokedexes.

Once your Galar Pokedex is complete, head to the main menu, select the three-line menu icon, and choose the "Mystery Gift" option to claim your Shiny Keldeo. There’s no rush, as there’s no deadline to claim this exclusive Shiny.

Similarly, to obtain Shiny Meltan, you need to complete the Kanto Pokedex in *Pokemon Home* using Pokémon from *Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee*. These Pokémon must bear the Let’s Go marker, symbolized by a Pikachu silhouette above their stat screen. After completing the Kanto Pokedex, navigate to the "Mystery Gift" option in the main menu to add Shiny Meltan to your collection. Like with Keldeo, there’s no time limit to claim Shiny Meltan.

Why Is Pokemon Home Not Registering My Pokedex?

If you’re facing issues with *Pokemon Home* not registering your Pokémon in the Pokedex, it could be due to a data issue, particularly on mobile devices. To fix this, follow these steps as advised by Pokémon’s support:

  • Open the *Pokemon Home* app.
  • Tap the "Menu" icon (three-line symbol within a circle) in the top-right corner of the title screen.
  • Select "Clear Cache."
  • Confirm by tapping "OK."
  • Once the cache is cleared, your Pokedex should start registering Pokémon correctly.
