Scammers are distributing fake invitations to test Elden Ring Nightreign

Bandai Namco is sending out emails inviting players to a closed beta test for Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14-17, 2025. Selected participants will be among the first to experience the game's three-person cooperative mode.

However, be warned: fraudulent invitations are circulating. Scammers are sending emails mimicking official Bandai Namco communications, containing links to fake websites designed to steal player accounts. These sites often resemble Steam. Players are urged to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of any emails before clicking links.

Several players have reported receiving these phishing attempts, sometimes even forwarded from their friends. While some have successfully recovered their accounts through Steam support, vigilance is crucial. Always check the source and legitimacy of any email before interacting with it. A significant change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute gameplay sessions are too short to allow for meaningful message exchange. The lack of time for sending and reading messages necessitated the disabling of this feature.
