Ready or Not: How To Wipe Mods Without Losing All Progress

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 19,2025

Ready or Not offers a fantastic gaming experience, and mods can significantly enhance it. However, mods can also introduce instability and prevent multiplayer sessions with friends who don't have the same mods installed. Here's how to completely remove all mods from your Ready or Not game.

Removing Mods in Ready or Not

There are several ways to install Ready or Not mods, including manual installation via Nexus Mod Manager or mod.io. Regardless of your installation method, removing them is straightforward:

  1. Launch Ready or Not and unsubscribe from all mods within the in-game Mod Menu. This prevents re-download after deletion.
  2. Close Ready or Not.
  3. Open Steam, right-click Ready or Not in your Library, select Properties, then Installed Files, and finally Browse. This opens the game's directory.
  4. Navigate to Ready Or Not > Content > Paks. Delete all files within the Paks folder, then delete the Paks folder itself.
  5. Exit the Ready or Not folder and open the %localappdata% directory (press Windows+R, type %localappdata%, and press Enter).
  6. Locate the Ready or Not folder and delete the Paks folder within it (Ready Or Not > Saved > Paks).
  7. To ensure a clean installation, right-click Ready or Not in Steam, go to Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files.

For a completely fresh start (optional but recommended if you're not planning to use mods again), consider reinstalling the game after removing all mod files.

While mods add exciting content and features to Ready or Not, they can also cause errors, bugs, and glitches. Community-created mods sometimes introduce unexpected problems, often resolved by a clean mod removal and reinstall. Furthermore, playing multiplayer with friends requires all players to have the same mods; deleting your mods ensures compatibility.
