PUBG 2025 Roadmap: What's Next for Mobile?

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 11,2025

Today, Krafton unveiled an ambitious roadmap for PUBG in 2025, signaling significant changes and advancements for the game. While the roadmap specifically targets PUBG, many of these updates are expected to influence PUBG Mobile as well. A key highlight is the shift to Unreal Engine 5, which promises enhanced graphics and gameplay across platforms, including current-gen consoles. But what does this mean for the mobile version of the game?

One of the most intriguing points from the roadmap is the emphasis on a "unified experience" across different modes of PUBG. Although this initially refers to the PC and console versions, it's not a stretch to think that this could extend to mobile in the future. The potential for crossplay-compatible modes or even a complete integration of the mobile and PC/console versions is an exciting prospect that could revolutionize the way players interact across platforms.

Krafton's plans include launching a PUBG UGC project that will allow players to share content, drawing parallels with successful UGC models like those seen in Fortnite. This move towards UGC could significantly enhance the mobile gaming experience, offering players more creative control and personalized content.

The possibility of a fusion between the mobile and other versions of PUBG is hinted at but not explicitly confirmed. While we're currently reading between the lines, the roadmap clearly outlines a bold vision for PUBG's future. We can anticipate that PUBG Mobile will see at least some of these developments mirrored in its 2025 updates.

However, the adoption of Unreal Engine 5 poses a significant challenge for mobile. Transitioning to a new engine could require substantial changes to the mobile version, potentially affecting its development timeline and performance. Despite these hurdles, the promise of a more unified and enriched gaming experience across all platforms is an exciting prospect for PUBG enthusiasts.
