The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket's latest expansion, Space Time Smackdown, released on January 30th, has sparked outrage among players due to a particularly graphic card depicting a violent scene.

The controversial card features Weavile ex, specifically the 2-Star full art version. The artwork shows a group of Weavile poised to attack an unsuspecting Swinub. This depiction of predatory behavior has ignited a passionate online debate.

Reddit threads are flooded with comments expressing concern and dismay. One post, garnering nearly 10,000 upvotes, simply exclaims: "NO! SWINUB LOOK UP!! LOOK UP!!" Many users express their disapproval, highlighting the unexpected brutality within the typically family-friendly Pokémon universe. Comments like "Leave the lil guy alone" reflect the widespread sentiment.

However, some fans attempt to offer a more optimistic interpretation, pointing to the Mamoswine full art card. This card depicts Mamoswine protectively looking upward, suggesting it may have witnessed and prevented the Weavile attack. This hopeful counter-narrative offers a glimmer of solace to upset players.

Space Time Smackdown, a Diamond and Pearl-themed set, includes 207 cards – fewer than the previous Genetic Apex expansion (286 cards). Despite its smaller size, it boasts a higher percentage of rare cards (52 alternate art, Star, and Crown rarity cards compared to Genetic Apex's 60).

The developer, Creatures Inc., has yet to address the controversy surrounding the card's artwork and a recent trading update. Despite a "Trade Feature Celebration Gift" offering in-game currency, the company remains silent on player concerns and has not responded to requests for comment.
