The Pokémon Company has exciting news for fans in North America: the Pokémon Fossil Museum is set to make its debut outside of Japan at Chicago's Field Museum on May 22, 2026. This unique exhibition delves into the fascinating world of fossils by displaying fabricated Pokémon "fossils" alongside authentic ancient lifeforms from the Field Museum's collection. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to compare and contrast these exhibits, spotting similarities and differences between Pokémon like Tyrantrum and Archeops and real-world dinosaurs such as SUE the T. rex and the Chicago Archaeopteryx.

For those unable to visit the museum in person, The Pokémon Company and Toyohashi Museum of Natural History have collaborated to bring the Pokémon Fossil Museum experience directly to your home. Fans can now embark on a virtual tour of the exhibit, exploring the intriguing collection of both real and Pokémon fossils, from a tyrannosaurus to a Tyrantrum, all from the comfort of their own space.
