Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals Preorders Live - Top Tips to Secure Your Set

Author:Kristen Update:May 27,2025

The Pokémon TCG's upcoming release, Destined Rivals, is creating a buzz among collectors and players alike. I'm already setting aside shelf space and mentally preparing to splurge on an Elite Trainer Box that I'll convince myself is a necessity. This set revives the charm of Trainer's Pokémon, brings back Team Rocket for more mischievous antics, and showcases some of the most stunning card art we've seen in a while. If you're passionate about collecting eye-catching cards or simply love the thrill of the game, this set is a must-have.

The Pokémon Center website has been undergoing some intriguing "maintenance" and is now accepting preorders. If you miss out there, keep an eye on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and other major retailers, where listings should appear any moment. It's time to channel your inner Black Friday warrior and refresh those pages like your life depends on it. Here's all the information you need to secure your preorder this week.

When Does Destined Rivals Officially Launch?

The full release of Destined Rivals is set for May 30, 2025. This is when all sealed products will be shipped and hit the shelves, provided they haven't sold out. The Pokémon Company has been making efforts to address ongoing stock shortages. Between May 17 and 25, select stores will hold pre-release events with Build & Battle boxes and early access tournaments. If you're interested, now's the time to check with your local league store—and by "check," I mean bring snacks to sweeten the deal.

What Products Will Be Launching With This Set?

I'd love to tell myself I'll only buy one item, but let's be honest—I also tell myself I'll hit the gym three times a week. We're all in denial, and that's okay.

When Destined Rivals launches, you can expect:

  • Booster Packs
  • Booster Boxes (36 packs)
  • Elite Trainer Box
  • Pokémon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box
  • Booster Bundle (6 packs)
  • Triple-pack blisters
  • Build & Battle Box
  • Build & Battle Stadium

There's also a high chance we'll see special collection boxes with alternate art promos, especially featuring characters like Cynthia, Misty, Ethan, or Marnie. You might not need them, but you'll find a way to justify it.

Destined Origins Cards I’ve Got My Eye On

I'm already planning to fill multiple binders, but some cards are already on my mental wishlist.

  • Cynthia’s Garchomp ex: This card is the epitome of power and strategy. It deals significant damage, draws cards, and exudes the confidence of a champion. I need three of these.
  • Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex: It combines utility with a dazzling design. The ability to accelerate Fire Energy and heal your entire team while dealing 160 damage is mind-blowing. I'm completely hooked.
  • Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex: This card is all about drama. It won't attack unless you've built a full Rocket-themed deck, but when it does, it throws energy around like a hyper Gengar. It's flamboyant, and I'm here for it.
  • Misty’s Psyduck: It's here to bring some laughs, even if it might cost you a game in the most endearing way. The ability to discard it to the top of your deck is quirky, and I love it.
  • Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex: It embodies the spirit of a villain with a Dark-type build that thrives on energy acceleration and disruption. I plan to run this deck like it's 2020 all over again.
