Pokémon Go Dynamax Confirmed for Max Out Season

The Max Out season kicks off September 10th at 10:00 a.m. local time and runs until September 15th at 8:00 p.m. local time. Prepare for a week of giant Pokémon battles and incredible rewards!

Dynamax Pokémon Debut in 1-Star Max Battles

Trainers will encounter Dynamax versions of classic Pokémon in 1-star Max Battles:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle
  • Skwovet
  • Wooloo

Catch these Dynamax Pokémon (and their evolved forms!), and keep an eye out for Shiny variations! Special Field Research tasks will also be available during the event, alongside PokéStop Showcases offering event-themed rewards.

Seasonal Special Research and Max Particle Bundle

A special Seasonal Special Research story will be released, focusing on Max Battles and providing rewards like Max Particles and a new avatar item. This research will be available from September 3rd at 10:00 a.m. local time to December 3rd, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

An exclusive Max Particle Pack Bundle (4,800 Max Particles) will be available on the Pokémon GO web store for $7.99 starting September 8th, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. PDT.

Power Spots on the Horizon?

Rumors suggest the arrival of Power Spots next month, serving as dedicated locations for Max Battles, Dynamax Pokémon encounters, and Max Particle collection. While Niantic hasn't confirmed this, it's an exciting prospect for the future of the game.

Mega Evolution and Gigantamax Potential

Pokémon GO senior producer John Funtanilla hinted at the possibility of some Dynamax Pokémon also being capable of Mega Evolution. However, the addition of Gigantamax Pokémon remains unconfirmed, despite being teased at this year's Pokémon Worlds. Niantic promises further details on Dynamax battles soon.
