People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

Author:Kristen Update:May 14,2025

People Can Fly, renowned for their work on Bulletstorm and as co-developers of Gears of War: E-Day, have recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to work on a new title codenamed Project Delta. According to a report released by People Can Fly, this project will be developed as a work-for-hire, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.

The studio is juggling multiple projects, each with its own intriguing codename. Alongside Project Delta, they're working on Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. Another project, Project Echo, is being developed with Krafton, and there's also Project Red, which appears to be another venture with Sony. Just yesterday, People Can Fly announced that Project Bison would be their final venture into VR gaming.

Recent months have been a period of adjustment for the studio. In December, they decided to suspend work on Project Victoria and scale down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they announced the cancellation of Project Dagger, which was set to be an action-adventure game in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly is still actively working on a total of eight projects that we're aware of. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though no release date has been announced yet. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
