In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the challenges of bringing Palworld to the Switch. He acknowledged the ongoing discussions about potential new platforms but stated that no announcements regarding a Switch release are imminent. The game's demanding PC specifications present significant technical obstacles for a Switch port. Mizobe previously stated that the PC version's higher specs compared to the Switch's capabilities make a port difficult purely for technical reasons.

Future Platforms and Partnerships

Mizobe hasn't ruled out future releases on PlayStation, mobile, or other platforms. Earlier this year, he confirmed that Pocketpair is exploring these options. While open to partnerships or acquisitions, he clarified that there have been no buyout discussions with Microsoft.

Enhancing Multiplayer with 'Ark' and 'Rust' Inspiration

Beyond platform considerations, Mizobe expressed his desire to expand Palworld's multiplayer aspects. The upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, is a stepping stone towards more substantial multiplayer experiences. He aims to incorporate elements reminiscent of popular survival games like Ark and Rust, specifically mentioning a desire for a robust PvP mode with similar depth and player interaction. Both Ark and Rust are known for their challenging environments, complex resource management, and extensive player interactions, including alliances and tribal dynamics.

Palworld, a creature-collecting survival shooter, has achieved considerable success. Its PC launch sold 15 million copies within the first month, and it has attracted 10 million players on Xbox Game Pass. A significant update, the free Sakurajima update, is scheduled for release on Thursday, introducing a new island and the highly anticipated PvP arena.
