Onimusha: Way of the Sword will not only feature the renowned swordsman Miyamoto Musashi but will also showcase his unmatched sword skills. The trailer also highlighted Musashi's roguish and comedic side, adding depth to his character. Capcom describes the game as a dark fantasy action experience, spotlighting one of Japan's most celebrated historical figures.

In an intriguing twist, Musashi's appearance in the game is modeled after the iconic Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune, who famously portrayed Musashi in various samurai films. This homage adds an extra layer of authenticity and appeal to the game.

Set in a demon-infested Kyoto, Onimusha: Way of the Sword pits Musashi against an evil force called Malic, which is summoning hellish creatures into Japan. This marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in two decades, signaling a significant return for the franchise.

To build anticipation, Capcom has also announced a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, slated for release on May 23, 2025. This remaster is designed to rekindle fans' excitement and prepare them for the upcoming adventures in Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
