Official: Dungeonborne is preparing to shut down

Dungeonborne, the PvPvE action game drawing inspiration from the popular Dark and Darker, is shutting down. Its creators have announced the end of support and the closure of its servers, bringing a close to a project that lasted less than a year. Low player activity and a lack of substantial updates ultimately led to the game's demise.

While the Steam page remains accessible via direct link, it's no longer discoverable through the platform's search function. The developers haven't publicly detailed the reasons for the shutdown, but the extremely low player count is clearly a significant factor. Since late 2024, concurrent player numbers rarely exceeded 200, plummeting to a mere 10-15 players in recent days.

Dungeonborne's servers will be permanently deactivated on May 28th, marking the definitive end of this game's journey. Despite initial interest from fans of the genre, it ultimately failed to reach its full potential.
