MultiVersus presented two last characters while fans threaten game developers

MultiVersus's story is a cautionary tale worthy of gaming history books, a narrative echoing the disastrous launch of the Concorde. Yet, the game isn't quite finished writing its final chapter. Developers have announced the last two characters joining the roster: Lola Bunny and Aquaman.

This announcement comes against a backdrop of escalating fan frustration, with some resorting to threats against the development team. In response, MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh issued a lengthy statement, pleading with players to refrain from targeting the team with threats.

Huynh apologized to fans whose desired characters didn't make it into the game, expressing hope they'll still find enjoyment in Season 5's final content. He clarified that character selection involves numerous complex factors, and his personal influence is less significant than some players believe.

Following the shutdown announcement, some players expressed anger over their inability to spend in-game tokens on new characters—a promised perk for buyers of the $100 edition. This unfulfilled promise may have contributed to the threats directed at the developers.
